Trinidad and Tobago secured a ticket to Germany 2006 thanks to Wrexham defender Dennis Lawrence, who headed home a Dwight Yorke corner. Trinidad and Tobago had ace Russell Latapy, Marvin Andrews, Jason Scotland and Kelvin Jack in their squad and have become only the second English-speaking country in the Caribbean to qualify after Jamaica in 1998.
The Trinidad and Tobago government had this to say "On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago I convey heartiest congratulations to our Soca Warriors for their convincing decisive 1-nil triumph against the Kingdom of Bahrain tonight, November 16, 2005.
