Don King signs T&T's Kertson Manswell

Don King, American boxing promoter, has signed Kertson Manswell, the unbeaten Trinidad and Tobago heavyweight prospect.

Manswell, the 2002 Commonwealth bronze and 2003 Pan Am Games silver medallist, left T&T last Thursday and is currently in camp in Houston, preparing for his first fight in September under Don King Productions. And already, the buzz on the internet is that Manswell will be among the upcoming heavyweights to be featured on the Contenders boxing TV series.

Yesterday, Gordon Hoyte, Manswell's local coach, confirmed that the 30-year-old heavyweight has moved to the United States to continue his development. He stated: "In September, we will get to see him live on HBO. "

The Tigers boxing gym trainer said that Manswell was forced abroad because of lack of support in Trinidad and Tobago and was particularly critical of the Trinidad and Tobago Boxing Board, whom he accused of hindering Manswell's development.
