2007 - The Afro Hair and Beauty Show 25th Birthday!
1982 was a classic year it brought us the Jheri
Curl, Rubiks Cube, Fame and Legwarmers, Ghandi, Thriller and Planet
Rock. Trends can come and go, but after 25 years at the front of the
scene, the Afro Hair Show is still going strong. In May 2007, the Afro
Hair & Beauty Show was reborn as Afro Hair & Beauty Live with
more demonstrations, more makeovers and more ways to get involved than
ever before. The event launched in 1982 and has grown to the largest
paid for Black event in Europe.
Afro
Hair & Beauty Live took place on Sunday 27th and Monday 28th May
at the prestigious Alexandra Palace, London.
The event brought together the world’s leading hair and beauty
brands with top hair stylists and beauticians for a dazzling weekend
of top tips and hands-on fun.
Demonstrations
Renowned experts and award winning hair and make up artists were showing
off the latest techniques in different demonstration areas. Each expert
was offering advice on skincare, make-up, weaves and extensions, braiding,
natural styles or relaxers. The only problem is there were not many
demonstartions on plating and braiding but numerous demonstarations
on weaves and fake hair!
